An exhilarating journey
The latest edition of Scottish Dental magazine features a celebration of the title’s 10 years under Connect ownership.
Featuring a cover offering a very special “Thank you!” to the magazine’s readers and commercial partners, the start of a new decade provided a timely opportunity to look back. Staff writer Stewart McRobert charts “an exhilarating journey” over the past decade.
The first edition of Scottish Dental we published coincided with the launch in 2010 of Childsmile, Scotland’s pioneering oral health initiative.
Illustrated by covers from each year, Stewart’s article highlights some of the key moments in the profession and industry that followed.
Scottish Dental has also tackled some of the most pressing issues facing practitioners, such as the stresses they face and the ways these can be addressed. The challenge of burnout featured prominently when the title underwent a radical redesign in 2018.
The magazine made its own significant contribution to the field, writes Stewart, by launching the Scottish Dental Show in 2012 and the Scottish Dental Awards in 2014. Combined, the publication and events have grown year-on-year.

As the team gears up for another record-breaking Scottish Dental Show on 24 and 25 April, Scottish Dental magazine will continue to serve the dental community in these rapidly changing times.
