New podcast client explores Arran with Connect
Connect is thrilled to welcome another fantastic podcast client into the fold.
Arran Sense of Scotland has agreed to sponsor an eight-part series about the Island of Arran and its positive contribution to mental well-being of islanders and visitors in order to boost tourism on the island.
Sales and Marketing Director Andrew Russell discussed the idea with our account manager Kim McAllister, whose space podcasts for our client the University of Edinburgh have been proving popular.
“I’ve known Kim forever and knew she could help us put together a really appealing podcast series which would remind people why Arran is such a popular holiday destination,” Andrew said.
“We discussed all the options and I’m really excited about the format. It’s called “The Arran Podcast” because we want to reflect all aspects of the island.”
Each episode will feature an interview with an islander or a high profile visitor, sharing their stories of special trips and local secrets. The first guest is Rachel Malcolm, captain of the Scottish Women’s Rugby team, whose family has a house in Whiting Bay.
“Arran has a really special place in people’s hearts and I know many people have really missed visiting during the lockdown period. We want to bring a little bit of the island into people’s homes and hopefully welcome them back soon,” Andrew added.
Kim, herself a lifelong visitor to Arran, is looking forward to interviewing a range of guests and producing a high quality and enjoyable series.
“It’s a dream project for me, talking about a place I love so much with others who feel the same,” she said. “It’s an island full of surprises, so I’m looking forward to sharing some insider tips and to travelling back there with my family soon.”
The series launches on Thursday 23 July and will be available across all podcast platforms.
