It’s World Photography Week!
A picture says a thousand words.
We all know that to be true and, as a content agency, we believe that there are many ways to tell a story. Often, these mediums complement each other, delivering thought-provoking and eye-catching pieces for our clients that capture their brand identity and objectives.
We are lucky to work with some of the best freelance photographers in the industry, who support us in developing and drawing out the essence of our clients’ stories in the best way possible. And so we thought World Photography Week (12-26 August) would be the perfect opportunity for us to shine a spotlight on their fantastic work.
Below, we share the work of Mike Wilkinson, Lesley Martin, Scott Richmond , Shannon Tofts and Mark K Jackson, who have captured everything for us, from landscapes, portraits, nature and more.
Mike Wilkinson is a longstanding photography partner and has worked with us on a myriad of projects. The first image was taken for our client Kongsberg Maritime, showing a worker inside a fin. The second image was taken at the Scottish Dental Show, our annual event that brings together professionals far and wide from the dental community. Mike has a talent for capturing vibrant candids of his subjects, and is an excellent choice for any conference or event.
We have had the pleasure of working with Shannon Tofts for a number of years, and he has captured special moments for a variety of our clients. Shannon has been a long time contributor to The Keepers of the Quaich (KOTQ). These shots of craftspeople at Hamilton & Inches jewellers were taken for The Keeper, their membership magazine we produce.
Lesley Martin is a highly experienced photographer based in Edinburgh, with a special knack for capturing portraits. This can be seen by our two examples above – the first a photo of Deborah Long, Chief Officer, Scottish Environment LINK, taken at Princes Street Gardens, Edinburgh, for the William Grant Foundation Annual Review 2022, and the second a photo of Lawrence and Eilish petitioning outside of the Scottish Parliament for the ‘Our Kids Won’t Wait’ campaign.
We love working with Scott, a former member of our creative team, and have done so for many years. He has a talent for putting his subjects at ease, and beautifully captures both people and places. His shots are second to none, as you can see from the first image of waves rolling into Oban. The second image is of Keira Anderson, Project Development Officer at Argyll Coast and Islands Hope Spot, taken in Oban for the William Grant Foundation Annual Review 2022.
Mark Jackson has worked with us on Scottish Dental for many years. This first image is of Grant McIntyre, which was used for the magazine’s lead article ‘Surviving Covid’ for the December/January 2021 issue. The second image is of Anas Sarwar, Member of the Scottish Parliament and Leader of the Scottish Labour Party, who Mark captured for the February 2019 issue.
